I was inspired to make my own rattles by Magda Gerber, the founder of Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE). She asserted that it is best for babies to actually see what makes a rattle’s sound. I thought it would be nice for our son to see some things from our kitchen pantry. For our rattles, I used a cinnamon stick, angel hair pasta, wild rice, hazelnuts, sesame seeds, and dried basil. I hope you find this inspiring for the tots in your life. These are so easy to make. What a wonderful baby shower gift!
